Leatherwork

I've always had a fascination with the art of leatherwork and taxidermy. As an animal lover, I see it as a way to honor and celebrate of the life of an animal, utilizing every part of its body. Growing up in rural New Jersey, I was always scouting for bones in the woods in order to study their skeletal makeup, and in the past year, I taught myself how to properly skin and tan hides. For most of my wearable art, I use European cowhides that are byproduct of the food industry, that have been factory tanned and processed to fashion-grade. All of the skins, bones, and furs I use are sourced ethically.
